Design Plan:
The print ended up coming out really really good, the only thing is in the next print I want to print out the coat hanger out rather than in one big in piece making it many pieces and assembling it after it is all printed out, this could save hours on the print time and the quality could possibly get better. My Plan:
For my print I am going to make it print a total of seven pieces rather than one. This would include: three hooks, two eyes, one nose, and one main body. I have to make holes in the main body so everything can fit in and stay in place properly. This is my new design:
Final Design:
For my first design, I put a raft down, a raft is a layer of plastic from the 3D printer. this layer provides a stable flat uniform base to start the printing from.
For my second design I chose to change the thickness of each layer from .2mm to .15mm. this will change two things, first it will make the print to have a lot more detail and the print will be higher quality, the second thing this will change is the print time, because each layer is now thinner it will take longer to print.
For my last design I added supports, supports will support prints as they buildup. they are important for big prints but the only downside is that it adds time to the print time. Other than that it is a great thing to use while printing.
